TINNO Expanding Production for the Goal of Dark Factory in the Future

Major mobile phone manufacturers in electronic manufacturing industry are undertaking the pressure of continuous global demand decline and overstock in the third year of the pandemic. Some manufacturers are reducing inventory level in good order under such a market background, while some manufacturers are braving against trend to increase their investment and expand their scale to prepare for the future actively, which is exactly what TINNO is doing.

More investment in manufacturing and upgrade of intelligent automation

TINNO continued to increase its investment in manufacturing. It invested 200 million yuan to purchase a large number of SMT, testing, assembly and packaging equipment on the basis of original production line at the beginning of 2022, further expanding the production capacity of manufacturing bases of Nanchang in Jiangxi and Heyuan in Guangdong. The capacity of TINNO’s domestic factory has improved its efficiency on the basis of the original annual capacity of 60 million units after the expansion. In addition, it can rapidly increase the capacity to 100 million units according to the dynamic demand of customers and the market. TINNO also has its own factory and cooperative factory overseas, with the scale of 20 million units / year, which is possible to fully cover the order needs of customers.

Automation rate of TINNO Manufacturing Plant has increased to 70% after the equipment investment. The automatic test line accepted in October achieved 100% automation from board dropping to testing and dispensing, and will be an important part of building a Dark Factory in the future. “We have added a lot of replication lines and automated testing equipment in the group and packaging part, and vigorously promoted the lean line in order to achieve the goal scale expansion.” He Zhenyu, Head of TINNO’s New Product Introduction Department, said that the overall production efficiency has increased by 20% with the completion of lean line promotion.

Intelligent manufacturing with the lean and efficiency goal is not only one of the ways to reduce costs and increase efficiency, but also a way for “Made in China” to continue to improve quality and gain competitiveness in the world. Behind the massive expansion of production capacity is the determination and action of TINNO to continuously deepen manufacturing intelligence.

Benefits of intelligent manufacturing are so obvious that labor efficiency is of course the first thing to mention: a quasi-Dark Factory demonstration line was established in TINNO Nanchang Manufacturing Center this year. The production line that originally required 12 people to work simultaneously now only requires 3.5 people, saving 8.5 people. This change has obviously improved the competitiveness of manufacturers in manufacturing. In addition to improving production efficiency and labor efficiency, benefits of intelligent transformation of TINNO are also fed back to delivery quality inspection experience. Thanks to to the introduction of automated testing and the use of equipment instead of manual data detection, the product quality has been significantly improved in node control, and the first-pass rate has been increased by 1.5%, while the product yield has been increased to 97%, which better ensured product quality.

TINNO Group actually attaches great significance to upgrade of automation. TINNO Group set up a cross-module “Automation Technical Committee” in the second half of this year to promote upgrade of automation of the company by integrating superior technologies such as manufacturing, network technology, data analysis, cloud storage and industrial Internet solutions, and using digital tools. There are now more than 500 people involved in upgrade of intelligent manufacturing and automation systems in the end-to-end whole chain of TINNO product line.

Practicing “Carbon Neutrality

TINNO reduced resource consumption, improved quality and efficiency, and then improved decarburization capacity by promoting the transformation of manufacturing field to automation and digitalization. In addition to improving automation and reducing energy consumption, TINNO is also dramatically improving the use of clean energy. Photovoltaic power generation is now widely used in manufacturing parks, and more than 30% of the power in production parks is generated from clean energy.

Promotion of intelligent manufacturing is not only the acquisition of “Internal Skills”, but also TINNO’s practice of the “Carbon Neutrality” concept.
